Joseph P Canelli Jr. 88 of Braintree passed away April 17, 2017. Beloved partner of the late Ernestine Mantia. Brother of Peter Canelli and Mary Prario both of Braintree, Rita Sbrizzi of CT and the late Madeline Westover and Louise Piggott. He is also survived  by Ernestine’s 4  children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Joe had been a lifelong resident of Braintree and was a US Army Veteran. He had worked as a custodian for many years at both the Dedham and Stoughton District Court House’s retiring in 1997. After retirement he worked as a bartender at Melwood’s now Campanale’s restaurant in South Braintree. Joe had also been a longtime member of the Braintree Son’s of Italy.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday April 22 at 10:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church 856 Washington St. Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the McMaster Funeral Home 86 Franklin St. (RT37) Braintree  Friday from 5-8 PM. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery
