Ignatius “Nate” G. Reed, 100, of Braintree, passed away quietly May 26, 2017 at the Beaumont Nursing Center inNorthborough, MA.  Loving father of Wilfred (Woody) Reed and his wife Patricia and Husband of the late Dorothy (DeCoste) Reed. He graduated from Braintree High School in 1935.  He spent two years in the CCCs and served in the Army Air Corp during World War II.  Nate worked as an electrician at Armstrong Cork and later at various construction jobs in the greater Boston Area with IBEW local 103.Nate retired to Cape Cod at Popponesset Beach, Mashpee, MA in 1981 and lived there until 2003 when he moved in with his son Woody and his wife Patricia in Northborough, MA.  When in Popponesset Beach he served as an usher at Christ the King Church in Mashpee.A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 12:30 PM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington St. Braintree.  Burial will follow at the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin St, (Rt37) Braintree on Tuesday, May 30 from 5 – 8 PM.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to the Salvation Army
