Helen F. (Dowling) Siitonen 91 of Braintree passed away February 20, 2017 one day shy of her 92nd birthday. Wife of the late Pentti “Ben” Siitonen. Loving mother of Robert and his wife Barbara of NJ and Linda Tricomi and her husband Frank of Braintree. Dear sister of Mary Harris of Duxbury and the late Joseph, John, Willam, Thomas and James Dowling. Dear grandmother of Jason Siitonen of NJ, Todd Siitonen of PA, Michael Tricomi of FL and Anne Lang of ME. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Helen was born in Cambridge MA in 1925, daughter of the late Annie and John Dowling. She grew up in Quincy and was a 1942 graduate of North Quincy High School. She married in 1944 and moved to Braintree. She had worked as a receptionist for 20 years at the Franvale Nursing Home in Braintree retiring in 1990. Helen loved family, music the beach and had many friends wherever she lived or worked. She will be remembered for her positive attitude, wonderful sense of humor, her quick wit and the ability to break out in song at a moments notice. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday February 24 at 10 AM in the Church of St. Clare 1244 Liberty St. Braintree Highlands. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the McMaster Funeral Home 86 Franklin St. (RT37) Braintree  Thursday from 5-8 PM. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family sincerely requests that donations in her name may be made to a charity of ones choice.
