Donald W. Blood “Big D” of Plymouth, formerly of Braintree, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 13, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Sheila Faherty Blood. Devoted father of Robert J. and his wife Carol of Norwood, Michael R. and his wife Cathy of Hallandale, FL, Jonathan K. of Weymouth, and Jennifer Clough and her husband Eric of Lunenburg. Loving Papa to Siobhan, Dana, Anastasia, Amanda, and Kelsie, and his many great grandchildren. Survived by his cousin Joe Mahoney and wife Cathy of Toronto, Canada, his niece Carol A. Bonney and her husband Richard of Needham. Predeceased by his sister Sally A. Britton (Blood) of Norwood. Don was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, and had worked in the computer industry in its infancy, and in sales for the remainder of his working life. Dad’s love for reading compelled him to become a Trustee for the Thayer Public Library in Braintree. He was instrumental in having the library rebuilt. He passed on his love of reading to his children and grandchildren. He was a mans man with a big heart devoted to taking care of his wife. He can now take her hand, and shine big and shine bright on all of us.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 19 at 11 AM at St. Bonaventure Church, 803 State Road, Plymouth. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin Street (Rt. 37), Braintree, Tuesday, from 4-7 PM. Internment Manomet Cemetery, Plymouth.
