Virginia Marie (Weathers) Monaghan, a lifelong resident of Braintree, born May 25, 1928 passed away peacefully at the age of 86 surrounded by her family on February 8, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Donald Monaghan, and daughter of the late Henry and Margaret Weathers. Loving mother of David and his wife Sheila of Norwood, Jerry and his wife Kim of Sharon, Jack and his wife Charlene of Bridgewater, Bruce and his wife Ann, James and his wife Pam, Patty Delaney all of Braintree, Donna and her husband Larry Pidcoe of Picayune MS and the late Gail Monet. Sister of Margaret Greenwood of Arvado CO and the late Arthur and Thomas Weathers. Dear Nanu of 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and the late Jason Monaghan. She was employed for many years as a waitress at the Braintree five corners Chinese restaurant, baked and waitressed for Mug “N” Muffin in Weymouth Landing and was Co-owner of Gazebo Ceramic Shop where she gave lessons. She loved to travel and would drive to Florida and Mississippi for the winters. She loved people and was always there to help anyone. She taught knitting and hosted luncheons at the recreation center at Braintree housing, where she lived for the past 6 years. But most of all, throughout her life she was always there for her family. We have all lost a part of us, a part that will live on thru the wonderful memories that she created for each and everyone of us. You will surely be missed Mom, Nanu, Aunt Ginny, Sister and Friend. You are part of whom we are. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday February 12 at 9AM in Saint Francis of Assisi Church 856 Washington St. Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the McMaster Funeral Home 86 Franklin St. (Rt.37) Braintree Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Interment Plain St. Cemetery Braintree.
