Vicky M. Ruvido, age 62, of Braintree, passed away May 3, 2020. Beautiful soul and beloved Mother, Daughter, Sister and Friend. Vicky passed away from complications of pneumonia after a second stem cell transplant for myelofibrosis, a rare blood cancer. Vicky fought her disease valiantly and with no complaint. She always had hope for a better day. Vicky was a graduate of Braintree High School Class of 1975. She was a long-time resident of Pembroke, MA where she raised her children Michelle Bradley, Devin Bradley and Daniel Dougherty. In Braintree, Vicky raised her daughter Abigail Ruvido. Vicky was a special education advocate for many years. She then became the Southeast Regional Manager for Learn2Cope and helped countless families navigate substance use disorder as it affected their families. Vicky was appointed a Commissioner for the Commission on the Status of Grandparents Raising Grandchildren by Governor Baker in Spring, 2018. In addition to her children, Vicky leaves behind her parents Joseph & Tina Ruvido of Hingham, her sisters Nancy Ruvido of Weymouth, Gina Ruvido of Randolph, and many beloved cousins and dear friends. Funeral service and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
