Thomas J. Reynolds Sr. 89 of Braintree passed away April 4, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Helen (O’Connor) to whom he was married to for 55 years. Loving father of Thomas J. Jr., Joseph H. and Michael J. all of Braintree, Brian J. of Abington, Ellen C. Brigham of Weymouth and Patricia Forges of Ocoee FL. Brother of John Reynolds of CA., and the late Helen Donovan, Catherine Wallace and Marie Andrews. Cherished grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in South Boston, he has been a resident of Braintree for the past 55 years.He had worked for Boston Edison as an inspector for 39 years retiring in 1988. Thomas was a graduate of Boston Mechanic Arts High School class of 1942. He was a past president of the Donald E. Ross Elementary School PTA, long time coach of the East Braintree little league, past president and member of the Irish American Club of Dorchester, member of the J.P. McKeon Post of Dorchester, Braintree Lodge of Elks, Adams Heights Men’s Club and the Castle Island Association. He was also a former Boston Park League football and baseball player. Thomas had a love for traveling with his late wife to many destinations in the United States and Ireland. He was a devoted grandfather who loved spending time with his grandchildren, an avid reader, sports fan and dance enthusiast. Funeral from the McMaster Funeral Home 86 Franklin St (Rt37) Braintree Tuesday April 8 at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas More Church Hawthorn Rd. Braintree at 10 AM.
