Sheila E. Timulty

Sheila E. Timulty (O’Neill), 82, of Braintree, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024.  Sheila was born in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, to Cyril and Ellen (McCarthy) O’Neill.  She grew up in Newfoundland and Labrador and it was there she started her long and outstanding career as a nurse.  She moved to the US in 1975 and shortly thereafter met her husband of 43 years, Paul F. Timulty. 

Sheila continued working as a nurse for more than 30 years in the ER of Carney Hospital in Dorchester.  She truly loved what she did, but nothing brought her greater joy than her three sons (Paul Jr., Brian, and Kevin) and being a proud grandmother to her six grandchildren.  Sheila was a devout Catholic who gave a great deal of her time and energy to the church and her faith.  As long as she was able, Sheila would go to mass every day of the week and managed to get a prayer in for anyone she knew. 

She was the cherished wife to Paul F. Timulty; devoted mother to Paul J. Timulty, Brian Timulty, and Kevin Timulty and his wife Jennifer all of Braintree; proud grandmother to Maria, Kevin Jr., Heidi, Deirdre, Jackson and Kylee Timulty; loving sister to Reverend Bernard O’Neill of Newfoundland and Labrador, Catherine Driscoll (O’Neill) and her husband, Joseph, of Nova Scotia, and John O’Neill and his wife, Maureen, of Ontario.  She is also survived by many loved nieces and nephews and countless friends. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours from 4-7pm on Wednesday, February 14 at McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin St. (Rt. 37), Braintree. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, February 15 at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington St., Braintree.

In lieu of flowers Sheila’s family sincerely requests donations in her memory be made to a charity of one’s choice.
