Paul N. Eldredge, Jr. 79, of Quincy, formerly of Braintree, died Tuesday February 3, 2015 at Boston Medical Center.

Born in Charlestown on December 11, 1935 he was a son of the late Paul N. and Lillian G. (Crogan) Eldredge Sr. He was raised in Charlestown and graduated from Boston Latin High School in 1953. He was a longtime resident of the Quincy-Braintree area.

Mr. Eldredge served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

He was involved in the early of years of implementing computer technology into the areas of business and government. His work in automating information systems included Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and the Federal Credit Bureau in Copley Square. He was later employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the State House in the information technology department for over 25 years before retiring.

Paul enjoyed gardening, reading up on a variety of subjects and had an extensive coin collection. He also especially loved family events and gatherings.

He is survived by his children Paul C. Eldredge of Charlestown, Aj Silva of Hanover and Linda Simonds of Florida and three grandchildren Gregory, Scott and Lisa Wood. He was the brother of Frank Eldredge of Colorado, and the late Lillian G. Eldredge and Rosemary Buckley. He is also survived by his former wife and lifelong friend Carol Ann (Branco) Eldredge of Hanover, his other former wife Maureen Brolin and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 am from the McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin St. (Rt.37) Braintree followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 850 Washington St. Braintree. Burial with Military Honors in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham will be in the spring. Visiting hours are Friday from 6-8 pm.
