Paul G. Bierlich Jr. Obituary

Paul G. Bierlich, age 85, of Braintree entered Heaven peacefully on Monday, January 20th, 2025, the way he lived his life; with integrity, courage and grace. Paul was at home surrounded by loved ones on this day when he peacefully drifted to a happier place above.

Born in Boston on July 22, 1939. Later attending Franklin Institute and Wentworth. Paul was 18 years old when he met the love of his life, Janet Shaw.  They married on July 23, 1961, and he was later drafted into the US Army, stationed in South Korea.

Paul was a hard worker and dedicated employee of Polaroid Corporation for 27 years, retiring in 1996. Though he still kept busy in his machine shop, “JANCO Machine.” When he was not there he was in his garden, growing every type of vegetable and all of the beautiful flowers.  Anyone who knows Paul, had the pleasure of trying his fresh vegetables grown with love and care.

Paul also enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife, Janet and their close friends whom he grew up with - they loved Aruba!  As a great father he enjoyed camping and fishing with his son Scott.  He also enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes in the kitchen.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul G. Bierlich Sr. and Ruth (Gove), his brother Russell and sister Christine Valerio.

He was the loving husband of Janet R. (Shaw) and (THE BEST) Father to Paula and her husband Jerry Adams, formerly of Braintree, also Scott and his wife Jenn (Segiet).  He was the cherished grandfather of Cali Adams, Brooke Adams and Anthony McCarthy.  He leaves behind many nieces and nephews and dear "lifelong" friends.

Paul was the most humble and giving man, loved so dearly and will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

All people die, but not all people live.  Paul packed so much life into his eighty-five years. Through traveling with friends, working in a profession he loved, building all sorts of creations in his workshop, and then fighting his toughest battle, what he knew from the start was an incurable disease. Paul did so with grace, integrity, and strength, cracking jokes up until the very end. Paul would want us to remember him with a smile and pride rather than tears and sadness. He’d want us to find comfort in knowing he’s free from any pain and suffering, leaving his honourable legacy behind.

Paul will be laid to rest beside his mother at Braintree Cemetery.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, January 24th from 10:00am to 12:00pm followed by a Funeral service at 12 noon in the McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin Street (Rt. 37), Braintree.  Burial to follow at Braintree Cemetery.
