Patricia L. Monaghan Delaney, a lifelong resident of Braintree, born August 12, 1956, passed away peacefully at the age of 59, surrounded by her family on November 20, 2015. Patty was a loving mother, aunt, sister, cousin and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Virginia (Weathers) Monaghan and sister Gail Monet. She is survived by her devoted and loving son Donald Monaghan Delaney of Braintree, her brothers, David (Sheila) Monaghan of Norwood, Jerry (Kim) Monaghan of Sharon, Jack (Charlene) Monaghan of Bridgewater, Bruce (Ann) Monaghan of Braintree and Jimmy (Pam) Monaghan of Braintree; her sister Donna (Larry) Pidcoe of Picayune MS., and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Also survived by Judi Whitten, her best friend since second grade.

Patty was employed for many years at Piab in Hingham, Becton Dickinson in Mansfield and College Town in Braintree.

She loved to visit her sister in Mississippi and friends in California. She enjoyed quilting, crafts and puzzles and was especially proud of a quilt she made of her  family tree. Patty was especially proud and devoted to her son Donny, whom she loved with all her heart. Throughout her life she was always there for her family and many friends. We have all lost a part of us, a part that will live on through the wonderful memories that she created for each and everyone of us. You will surely be missed Patty, by all who knew and loved you.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours in the McMaster  Funeral Home 86 Franklin St. (RT 37) Braintree on Tuesday Nov. 24, 2015 from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM. At the family’s request services and burial for Patty will be private. In lieu of flowers, Patty’s family request donations be made in her memory to Hope Hospice 765 Attucks Lane Hyannis Ma. 02601 or to No Shave November, Braintree Police Officers Assoc.,282 Union St. Braintree Ma. 02184,which will go to a family of a child battling cancer.
