Michael Vocino, of Braintree, MA and formerly of Somerville, MA. "Mike" was 91-years-old and passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Luigi and Maria (DeCata) Vocino of Somerville, and the husband of the late Dorothy (Connaughton) Vocino. Mike is survived by his son, Michael Vocino, Jr. of Kingston, RI, his daughter, Judith Vocino- Daley and her husband, William of Braintree. Also survived by his three grandchildren, William F. Daley, Jr., Michael Vocino Daley and his wife Jocelyn (May) all of Braintree, and Julianne Daley Tilden and her husband Nathan of Hanover, MA.  He was blessed with six great grandchildren whom he loved and cherished.  He is also survived by his brother Pasquale and his wife Doris of NH, and his sister Mary Fantucchio (wife of the late Raymond) formerly of Quincy, as well as his sister-in-law Dorothea (Bussolari) Vocino, wife of his late brother Anthony of Somerville. Mike was also the brother of the late Angelina Bearse of Billerica. Mike grew up in Somerville and moved to Braintree where he raised his family.  He travelled the world as a Merchant Marine, serving his country before, during, and after World War II. He loved the sea and the water, spending decades enjoying fishing with friends and family. Mike also retired as the Manager of North American Packing Company of Boston. He was an active member of the Braintree Sons of Italy. Family and friends are welcomed to attend a celebration mass of Mike's life on Tuesday September 16 at 10:30am in Saint Francis Assisi Church 856 Washington St. in Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the McMaster Funeral Home 86 Franklin St. (Rt.37) Braintree Monday from 5pm-8pm. Interment at Plain Street Cemetery, Braintree.
