Mary V (Joyce) Gargano

Mary V. Gargano of Braintree, formerly of Dorchester passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 4, 2021. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Mary was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Joyce. She attended St. Gregory’s in Dorchester and graduated from Braintree High School. She then graduated from Lemuel Shattuck nursing school. She worked as a maternity nurse for many years at Milton Hospital. While raising a family she lovingly cared for the elderly and worked at South Shore Hospital as a visiting nurse.

She leaves behind her loving husband David R. Gargano of 59 years. She was the devoted and beloved mother of David Gargano Jr of Braintree, Susan Barry and her husband James of Abington, Nancy Romero and her husband Marcelo of Braintree, Andrew Gargano and his wife Riccie of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by her eight loving grandchildren, Christopher, Jeffrey, Zachary, Michael, Alexander, Antonio, Josephine and Juliana.

Mary was the loving sister to the late Patricia Clougherty and Rita Sheehan. She enjoyed knitting, traveling, playing gin rummy and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, November 8th from 5-8PM at McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin Street (Rt. 37) Braintree. A Funeral Mass will take place at Saint Clare Church, 1244 Liberty Street Braintree at 10 AM on Tuesday, November 9th, with interment to follow at Braintree Plain Street Cemetery.
