Mary (Mineo) “Ma” Fontana of Braintree formerly of Quincy passed away at home July 27, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Fontana and Jerry DiTocco. Loving mother of Jerry DiTocco and his wife Christine of GA, Donna Balcom and her late husband Donald of Braintree and Jacqueline Guilfoyle and her husband Jack of Plymouth. Sister of Anna Hassan of Rockland and the late Alice Marchese and Josephine Tolson.  Mary is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was born in Palermo Sicily and emigrated to Quincy at the age of 6 where she lived until moving to Braintree 6 years ago. She had worked as a hostess for many years at Valley’s Steak House and the Sheraton Tara in Braintree. She loved to play bingo and travel to Foxwood’s.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday July 30 at 10:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 850 Washington St. Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the McMaster Funeral Home 86 Franklin St. (Rt.37) Braintree Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Interment Blue Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Mary’s name may be made to Hospice of the South Shore 30 Reservoir Park Dr. Rockland MA 02370-1055.
