Marie A. (Kennedy) Young Obituary

Marie Ann Kennedy Young was born on July 26, 1932, in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, to John Kennedy and Nora Knightly.  She graduated from Blessed Sacrament School in Jamaica Plain and went on to attend Saint Thomas High School.   While raising five children, Marie returned to school and proudly earned her RN degree from Massasoit Community College, exemplifying her lifelong dedication to learning and service.

Marie was the heart of her family and a beloved figure in every life she touched. She loved to reminisce, often sharing stories about her mother Nora and the values she passed down—especially the importance of teaching and family. Marie dedicated her life to creating a warm, loving home and was happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Marie was married to John Young for 68 years, a partnership built on mutual love, respect, and devotion. Together, they lovingly cared for their son John and built a family legacy rooted in compassion and faith. She and John were longtime, devoted members of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Braintree.

Marie was predeceased by her husband John, her beloved sons, the late Thomas and John Young; her sister, Helen John; and her brother, John Kennedy.

She is survived by her daughter Ellen Collins and her husband Danny, her daughter Mary Young and her husband Tom Meaney, and her son Richard Young and his wife Michele. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed to know her love.
