Marie E. Glynn

Marie E. Glynn, of Braintree, passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2022 on her 98th birthday.

She was born on June 16, 1924 to the late Thomas and Josephine (Moran) Glynn. 

Marie was born in Boston, MA where she was raised and educated.  Marie had a long career working for the Massachusetts State College System as a Staff Associate for Fiscal Affairs.  Her last role was at Bridgewater State College.

Marie was a faithful parishioner of the St. Clare Parish of Braintree.

A resident of Braintree for over 50 years, Marie was always up to date on what was going on in town and never hesitated to call town hall with issues.  She was a member of the Gardeners Guild of Braintree for many years and especially enjoyed participating in the decorating of the Holiday House. 

In her retirement, Marie was a regular at Thayer Public Library.  She must have read every large print book in their collection.  She also enjoyed cooking and entertaining.  Her chocolate chip cake was a family favorite.  In her later years she enjoyed her Sunday trip out to eat and her rides to see what was going on in town and what houses were for sale.

She was predeceased by her loving sister Claire.  She also leaves many cousins, relatives, dear friends, and her cat Tigger. 

Special thanks to her neighbor Barbara Lacivita who was always there to help Marie and was a great friend throughout the years.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a period of visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Friday, June 24 at McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin Street (Rt. 37), Braintree. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:30AM in the Church of Saint Clare, 1244 Liberty Street, Braintree. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury MA.
