Margaret A. "Peg" (Blute) Manganello Obituary

Margaret A. “Peg” (Blute) Manganello, age 79, a longtime resident of Braintree, died peacefully Monday, December 30, 2024 at the John Scott House in Braintree.

Born in Cambridge to the late James P. and Eleanor M. (Kearns) Blute, she was raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of Cardinal Cushing High School.

Beloved wife for 56 years to Anthony C. Manganello.

Loving mother of Ann M. Berry and her husband Robert, of Braintree; Theresa M. Marini and her husband Daniel of Hanson; Anthony J. Manganello of Braintree; and Nancy E. Long and her husband Christopher of Bridgewater.

Devoted grandmother to Matthew, Jason, Bobby, Angela, John and Caroline.

Dear sister to Eleanor Hill of Taunton and the late James Blute of Holbrook.  She is also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Peg was an avid reader who also loved to paint, crochet and spend time at her second home in Vermont.  She had a green thumb, and her house was always filled with plants and flowers.  Peg was devoted to her family and especially loved spending time with her six grandchildren, of whom she was immensely proud.  She worked for many years at Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Massachusetts.  Peg will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
