Leo J. Smith 93 of Braintree passed away June 30, 2014 at his home. Beloved husband of the late Irene (Zaporowicz). Loving father of Mark Smith Sr. and his partner Teresa Valenti of Braintree and Leo Smith Jr. of Weymouth. Dear grandfather of Mark Smith Jr. of Braintree. Born in Newfoundland Canada and raised in Dorchester he had been a resident of Braintree for the past 59 years. Leo was a WWII Navy veteran and had worked in retail management for many years retiring in 1983. He had also worked as a model and had a brief career in radio. He loved to draw and had been a long time member of the Braintree Municipal Golf Course.  A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday July 3 at 9:30 A.M in the McMaster Funeral Home 86 Franklin St. (Rt. 37) Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the Funeral Home Wednesday from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to the South Shore VNA Association 30 Reservoir Pk. Dr. Rockland MA 02370-1055. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery
