Joseph M. Marino of Braintree passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 15, 2021 at the age of 86. He is survived by his loving wife Helen (Nastopoulos) Marino of 57 years and was the loving, devoted father of Traci and Kerri Marino of Weymouth. Brother of the late Michael, Ralph and Andrew Marino and Dorothea Bobek, Lucia Sargent and Marie Bolinder. Beloved Uncle of Diane Wilgocki and Michael Marino of South Carolina.
He graduated from Boston Technical High School in 1952 and received his Associates Degree from Newbury College. Joe was proud to have served in the U.S. Army in the late 1950s. He was President of the G. Marconi Club in Roxbury for 10 years.
Joe was born and raised in Roxbury and lived in Braintree for the past 51 years. He worked as a truck driver for many years and as a Foreman before retiring in 1992. Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Braintree where he played pool both for fun and competitively. He had a small catering business that brought him much joy. Joe was an avid horse racing fan. He loved his annual trips to Saratoga. He especially enjoyed his time with his family and friends and time spent at his pool.
In accordance with COVID-19 regulations, which require face coverings, social distancing, and limited capacity, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin Street (Rt. 37) Braintree, Sunday, February 21st from 3:00-6:00PM. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 22nd at 11:00AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, Braintree. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery
