John Donahue

John Donahue, a lifelong resident of Braintree, passed away March 1, 2022.  He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Maryanne (Banks), of Braintree, and his two daughters: Michelle Donahue and her husband David Shucosky of Pittsburgh, PA, and Meghan Dwyer and her husband Craig, of Milton.  He was a loving grandfather to three grandchildren: Caroline, Colin, and Ryan. He is also survived by his siblings: Richard, Susan Kupps, Michael and Robert. 

John was a Braintree firefighter for 37 years retiring as Deputy Chief/Fire Marshall. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He will be dearly missed.

John’s family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, 636 Morris Turnpike, Suite 3A, Short Hills NJ 07078, and Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care/Accent Care, 597 Randolph Ave, Milton, MA 02186.  

A Funeral Mass was held yesterday (March 7th) at St. Francis of Assisi Church Braintree and interment followed at Braintree Cemetery.
