Joan E. (Pestilli) Coady Obituary
Quincy – Joan E. (Pestilli) Coady, age 83, a lifelong resident of Quincy, died peacefully, Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Hancock Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Joan was born in Quincy, to the late Ernani F. and Eleanor L. (D’Angelo) Pestilli. Raised and educated in Quincy, she was a graduate of North Quincy High School.
Joan was a graduate of Mansfield Beauty Academy and worked as a hairdresser for fifteen years. She then worked as a microelectronics assembler at the former Quincy location of the Raytheon Company for twenty-five years. After they closed, she worked as a portfolio accountant at State Street Bank for two years and retired in 2002.
Joan loved to travel and spend time at the beach, especially Nantasket.
Devoted mother of Lisa M. Downey and her husband Jack of Braintree.
Dear sister of Richard P. Pestilli and his wife Lillian of Sandwich, Stephen J. Pestilli and his fiancée Karen Dinsmore of Norwell.
Joan is also survived by three nieces, one nephew, and their families. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Linda J. Pestilli.
Visiting Hours will be held at McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin Street (Route 37), Braintree, on Tuesday, October 1, from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, Braintree, on Wednesday, October 2, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
