Gloria Brummitt of Quincy, died peacefully Tuesday, February 11, following a long illness at the age of 95.

A longtime resident of Quincy, Gloria was born in Newburyport, MA the only daughter of the late Mabel O. (Roode) and Parmenter W. Brummitt. Prior to her retirement Gloria was a legal secretary for one of the major law firms in Boston.

She was a long-time member of the Hough’s Neck Congregational church, where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years and served for many years as secretary of the church. Gloria was a proud member of the church group known as the Bonnie Lassies.  

Gloria is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the dear friend of the late Joan F. Matthews, her caretaker for several years.  

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Funeral services at the McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin St. (Rt 37), Braintree on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 11AM.  Burial will follow at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. A period of visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10AM.
