Gertrude C. Spinney 90 of Braintree passed away April 3, 2015 at the Colonial Nursing Home in Weymouth. Daughter of the late Percy and Catherine (Thompson ) Spinney. Sister of Leonard and Ralph Spinney and the late Carole Cowing. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Born in Boston she enlisted at the age of 20 as a Navy Wave during WWII. She worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone for 38 years retiring in 1981. At her request visiting, Funeral Services and burial at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery in Quincy will be private.
