Gertrude C. Nolan

Gertrude (Carroll) Nolan, 88, of Braintree, MA, formerly of North Port, FL, closed her eyes into a peaceful sleep for the final time on Sunday, May 28, 2023, with family by her side.  

Born Gertrude Carolyn Gillis, she was raised in Randolph, MA, along with her three sisters;  the late Barbara Roche, the late Bernadette Argus, and Marie Anderson of Plymouth, MA. Gertrude is survived by her three children;  Rick Carroll and wife Beth Carroll of North Kingstown, RI, Patty McGrath and husband Mike McGrath of Braintree,  and Jane Walsh and husband Ricky Walsh of Holbrook, in addition she had seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Gert graduated from Stetson High School in 1952.  She was social, independent, and well liked, with a fun-loving sense of humor.  Gert had a passion for life and enjoyed a variety of activities, including horseback riding, traveling, golf, mahjong, and bingo.  She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral Mass on Wednesday, June 7 at 10:00am, at the Church of Saint Clare, 1244 Liberty Street, Braintree, MA. Burial services private.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Gert’s memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org) or Dementia Society of America (www.dementiasociety.org).
