Gerald F. “Jerry” Clancy, Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on December 11, 2024. Born on November 28th, 1938, in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the cherished son of Margaret and Gerald Clancy.

Jerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for four years in the early 1960s. He was a longtime resident of Hanson, Massachusetts, where he built a life filled with love and laughter alongside his beloved late wife, Frances Clancy, and their two children, Sean and Heather.

A devoted member of the Knights of Columbus in Whitman, Jerry dedicated many weekends to serving his community with kindness and generosity.

He is survived by his loving family, including his brother George Clancy and his wife Joni, his sister Betty Wilson and her husband Dave, and his sister Peggy and her husband Mac McLeod. He also leaves behind his daughter Heather Banerjee and her spouse Shokie Banerjee, along with his treasured grandson Sean Banerjee.

Jerry found immense joy in spending time with his family, vacationing at the beach, playing with his children and grandson, and indulging in hobbies such as building and collecting Franklin Mint model cars. He was an avid reader, a lover of classical music, and cherished moments dancing with his wife. His boundless sense of humor and warm smile will forever be remembered by all who knew him.

Jerry was the epitome of a loving husband, father, son, and brother. His family and friends will hold his memory close in their hearts, always inspired by the kindness and joy he brought to their lives.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a graveside service on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Blue Hills Cemetery, 700 West St., Braintree. Those attending are kindly asked to gather at the cemetery office driveway at 9:45 AM for the procession to the gravesite.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jerry’s memory to a charity of your choosing.
