George W. Picardi Jr. 87 of  Weymouth formerly of Braintree passed away September 19, 2015 at home. Father of Prema Picardi of VT. and the late Julie Picardi. Former husband of the late Thelma (Dube). Brother of Vincent Picardi and his late wife Nina of Quincy, the late Joseph Picardi and his wife Diane of Braintree and the late Florence Picardi. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born, raised and educated in Braintree he had lived in Weymouth for the past 42 years. He was a football all star at Braintree High School and was inducted into the Braintree Hall of Fame. George attended Wentworth Institute of Technology and the University of SC. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran he had worked as a surveyor for the Army Corps of Engineers for 37 years retiring in 1985. He was an avid reader of U.S. and world history. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday September 23 at 10:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 850 Washington St. Braintree. Visiting hours are omitted. Arrangements are under the direction of the McMaster Funeral Home 86 Franklin St. (Rt.37) Braintree. Interment St. Francis Xavier Cemetery Weymouth.
