Ellen (McIntire) Young, 70, of North Weymouth passed away August 16, 2024, peacefully with family and friends by her side. Ellen was the daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude McIntire of Braintree and Brewster Massachusetts. Ellen grew up in Braintree graduating from both Braintree High School and Northeastern University. Ellen worked at Massachusetts General Brigham Hospital in Research Administration.

Ellen is survived by her loving husband Bruce Young of North Weymouth, MA and their beloved dogs Tenley and Nellie. Also survived by her sister Marilyn (McIntire) Myers and her husband Dr. Alexander Myers of Milton, MA, and brother Robert McIntire and his wife Angela of Menlo Park, CA.

Loving Aunt of Jonathan Myers  of Portland, OR, Lisa McIntire of Oakland, CA,  Emily Smith and her husband Jeb  of San Jose, CA, and Ross McIntire and his wife Roshni  of Las Vegas, NV. 

Cherished grandmother of Elizabeth Kennedy of Providence, RI, Meghan Kennedy of Ashland, MA, Matthew Bernier of North Attleboro, MA, and Allison Bernier of North Attleboro, MA. 

Also survived by Bruce’s children, Linda Kennedy and her husband Jeffrey of Ashland, MA, Merideth Bernier of North Attleboro, MA and Mark Young of North Weymouth, MA.

Ellen’s family would like to thank Joanne Blinn and Elaine O’Neil for their unwavering love, support, and friendship they have given to Ellen. 

Funeral arrangements under the direction of McMaster Funeral Home, Braintree. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
