Doris E (Pendoley) Allen Obituary

Allen Doris E. of Braintree, MA passed away March 22, 2015 at the South Shore Hospital. She was born in 1922, the daughter of the late Frederick and Alice (Nichols) Pendoley in Boston, Massachusetts.  Possessed with traditional values she cared for her parents in their old age.  She cherished the large family that she grew up with: her sisters, Alice Neill and Jean Doyle, brothers Frank and Fred, and her cousins Gladys Huyler and Dorothy Burke.

Mrs. Allen graduated from Braintree High School.  She later worked at Stone & Webster Engineering in Boston, MA where she met her beloved husband of 62 years, the late William F. Allen.

She loved her religion, her family and her country. Mrs. Allen participated enthusiastically in her church and in her community.  She taught religious education and practiced charity and kindness to others.

Mrs. Allen loved life. She enjoyed bicycling, ice skating, blueberry picking, making music and baking. Up until two weeks ago she was taking piano lessons with the excellent assistance of the South Shore Conservatory of Music.

She left behind:

Children, William (wife Melina), Thomas (wife Karen), Janet Fraser (husband Greg), and Paul; grandchildren, Martha, James, Matthew, Katherine and Joseph, and a large extended family.

The wake is Friday March 27th from 5 to 8 PM at McMaster Funeral Home 86 Franklin St. (Rt. 37) Braintree. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Clare’s Church 1244 Liberty St. Braintree Highlands at ten on Saturday March 28th. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery.
