David “Dave” Miller Ripley of Braintree passed away on Tuesday August 3, after a short but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Jane (Follette) Ripley, to whom he was married to for 59 loving years. He is fondly remembered by his children Kim Cornell of Plymouth, Tracy Walsh and her husband Tim of Plymouth, and the late David Ripley and his wife Laura of Pembroke.

He was the beloved Papa to Haley and Harrison Cornell, Matt, his fiancé Amber, Casey, Meghan, her fiancé Connor and Joseph Walsh, and Sean and Dylan Ripley. Dave will be missed by many cousins, friends and his dog Scotty.

Born in Weymouth, Dave was the son of the late John and Eleanor Ripley, and the younger brother of Jack Ripley of Hanson. He was a printer and he attended vocational school and proudly served his country in the Coast Guard. He played volleyball, tended to his garden and worked at his father’s floral shop.

Pup never missed a grandchild’s game, recital or performance, and loved attending every family gathering. In his later days, Pup could be found at Wingate, holding Nana’s hand or grabbing breakfast with his family and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, August 7, from 9AM-11AM at McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin Street (Rt. 37), Braintree. Graveside service to follow at 11:30AM at Braintree cemetery.
