Bridget T. (McDonagh) Finnegan, 83, of Braintree, formerly of Dorchester and Kilconnell, Liscannor Co. Clare Ireland entered into rest on October 25, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Theresa as she was known by her family and friends, came to Boston when she was only sixteen to start her life and pave the way for her brothers and sisters.
Here her love of Irish music and dancing, at the Irish Social Club, is where she met her beloved husband Patrick of forty-eight years. Over these many years she enjoyed traveling, gardening, entertaining, playing cards, and her daily routine of puzzles.
Devoted Mother to Michael of Acworth, GA, Stephen of Braintree, and Noreen McNeil and her husband, and best son-in-law Brian.
Continues to be the loving Nana of Patrick, Christian, Brian, Christopher, and also to many of their friends.
Dear sister of Francis McDonagh, Co. Clare, Ireland, Mary McQuaid of West Roxbury, Catherine McDonagh of Brockton, the late Thomas, John, Patrick, and Anthony of Co. Clare Ireland. Dear sister-in-law of Mary Fitzpatrick of New Hampshire, Catherine Costa of Quincy, and Larry Finnegan of Florida. Also, survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, November 1st from 5-7 p.m. at McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin Street (Rt 37), Braintree.
Theresa’s burial will be private.
Theresa was diagnosed in 2021 with the debilitating disease, ALS. This slowly took away her ability to speak, shortened her breaths, and eventually eroded her actions like walking, eating, and communicating. She battled hard until her last moments surrounded by her loving family.
