BOUDREAUX, Basil “John”, age 93, of Braintree, MA, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 28, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. John was the beloved husband of the late Mary E. (Sullivan) Boudreaux, to whom he was married to for 70 loving years.
Born in Texas City, Texas, John was the son of the late Claude and Louise (Boudoin) Boudreaux. John was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology and attended Wentworth Institute of Technology. He was a licensed electrician and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 103 for 61 years.
John was a veteran of WWII, proud to have served with the U. S. Navy as a Radar Operator until his honorable discharge in 1948. He volunteered countless hours at St. Francis of Assisi School and Notre Dame Academy. John was the epitome of a family man and was at his happiest spending time with them. Most recently, he enjoyed participating in the activities at the Marge Crispin Center.
John is survived by his four daughters, Anne McCabe and her husband, Donald, of Braintree, Mary Ellen Boudreaux of Braintree, Sheila McKinley and her husband, John, of Braintree and Susan Kelly and her husband, James, of Acworth, GA; loving grandfather of nine grandchildren (Caitlin and her husband Ryan, Dayna and her husband, John, Alex and his fiancé Caitlin, Alanna, John, and James and his fiancé Olivia, Sean, Isabella and Chloe). John was blessed to have three great-granddaughters Josephine, Ainsley and Bridgette who brought him great joy. John was the brother of the late Jessie Mae Hall Stork, C. J. Boudreaux and his late wife Irene, the late Anna McWhorter and her late husband Charlie and Charles Boudreaux and his wife Connie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held in his honor at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, Braintree on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at 10:00am. Following the services John will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 245 North Street, Randolph. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin Street, (Rt 37) Braintree Tuesday July 6 from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in John’s memory to the Marge Crispin Center, 46 Lincoln Street, Braintree, MA 02184.
