Ardis Porter Obituary
Ardis MacBride Porter passed away peacefully on Friday October 22, 2021 at the age of 94 after a long and fulfilling life.
She attended Milton Academy and then studied Romance Languages at Sweet Briar College in Virginia. She was an avid reader, knitter, bowler, Masters Class bridge player and sun worshiper, traveling to Florida in the spring, and Cape Cod in the summer. She really loved spending time with her family for graduations, holidays, vacations, weddings and birthdays, and would travel all over the country to attend them. She had a vibrant personality with a flair for style, and she fulfilled her dream by becoming an interior decorator.
She was pre-deceased by her mother and father, Harold and Hilda Fratus, her first husband Edwin Thayer MacBride Jr. and husband Richard Porter. She is survived by her sister, Kaye ”Billie” Mitchell, her children Robin MacBride, Lisa MacBride and her partner, Kevin Mullavey, Thais Halloran and her husband, Shep, Heather MacBride, Ned MacBride and his wife, Jody, and Wes MacBride and his partner, Robin Harkin, along with nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The family will have a private celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to the Perkins School for the Blind. 175 North Beacon Street, Watertown MA 02472.
