Antoinetta (Delgiacco) Sheehan of Braintree, passed away peacefully at her home on September 5th, 2021 at the age of 86. Born in Weymouth to the late Palerio and Mary (Digaetano) Delgiacco. Beloved wife of the late Francis P. Sheehan. Loving mother of Thomas Sheehan and his wife Karin Statkum of Lynn, Daniel Sheehan and his wife Desiree of Arlington, David Sheehan of Braintree, Annette Barry of N. Kingstown RI, Paul Sheehan and his wife Jessica of Mattapoisett, Kevin Sheehan of Braintree, Janet Stuart and her husband Dan of Somerset, and Mary O’Donnell and her husband Matthew of Brockton. Sister to Thomas Delgiacco of Somerville, Julia Fantucchio of Braintree, Edward Delgiacco of Braintree, and the late Luisa Turner, Amelia Marinelli, Robert Delgiacco, and Rita Delgiacco. Much loved grandmother of ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Antoinetta is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Antoinetta was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt who loved to sing and have Sunday dinners with her family every week. A life-long resident of Braintree, she loved baking, dolls and figurines, but most of all looking after her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A member of the first graduating class of Archbishop Williams High School in 1953, Antoinetta went on to work in 4 different banks in Braintree as teller and customer service representative both before her marriage to Francis and after her 8 children had grown up. Antoinetta was a long-time parishioner of St. Thomas More, where she served as lector and gave freely of her time and skill to count money at the rectory for the church collection.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, September 12th from 2-6PM at McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin Street (Rt. 37) Braintree. A Funeral Mass will take place at Sacred Heart Church, 72 Washington Street, Weymouth MA at 10:30AM on Monday, September 13th. Burial will be private at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
