Yvonne M (LeBlanc) Coughlan

Yvonne M. (LeBlanc) Coughlan 80, of Rockland passed away on Tuesday April 3, 2018.

A longtime resident of Rockland, Yvonne was born, raised and educated in Dorchester, a daughter of the late Leo and Lucy (Belliveau) LeBlanc and stepdaughter of the late Monte Melanson.

Yvonne began her career at Liberty Mutual, where she met her future husband. After her marriage to Paul Coughlan, they settled in Rockland, working several part time jobs so she could be at home raising her children. As the children got older she began her career at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, retiring after many years to care for her two grandchildren, taking them on many little adventures.

Yvonne loved playing bingo, going to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun with family and friends, going on her annual cruise to Aruba with Paul, where she once hit the big jackpot at the casino on one of her many adventures. She enjoyed going to drum corps shows and traveled to many from St. Kevin’s Emerald Knights to Holy Family Defenders and the 27th Lancers of Revere.

She was the dear wife of Paul J. Coughlan, cherished mother of Diane M. Higgins and her husband Kenneth of Rockland and the late Paul E. Coughlan; devoted and much loved grandmother of Daniel P. Higgins and his wife Erika of Whitman and Emily M. Higgins of Rockland.  Sister of the late Albert, Pauline and William LeBlanc, Stepsister of Paul Melanson of Dorchester, Mary Schools of Roslindale and the late Edward Melanson. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home 45 East Water St Rockland Friday April 6 from 4 to 7PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday April 7 at 9AM in Holy Family Church 403 Union St Rockland. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
