Patrick J Fleming

Patrick James Fleming of Cambridge formerly of Barryroe, County Cork Ireland passed away December 27, 2018 after a life well-lived and a short illness at Cambridge Hospital where he was compassionately cared for by the amazing medical staff.   Loved brother of Richard of Medford and his friend, Margaret; Mary Ellen (Fleming) Hand and her husband, John of England; Anna (Fleming) Buckley of Quincy; John Joe and his wife, Barbara of Braintree; Elizabeth (Fleming) Aylott (Patrick’s twin) of England; Brendan and his wife, Bridget of Canton; and Michael and his wife, Maureen of Braintree.  Mysterious Uncle Pat to many adoring nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Good friend of Peter Fosdick of Cambridge.

Patrick spent time in New York in the 1960’s where he was a part of Andy Warhol’s Factory, appearing in the film Chelsea Girls, **** (four stars), and Andy Warhol Screen Tests. Patrick was a friend to many in Cambridge and especially the Harvard Square area where he was well known within the close-knit music community. Patrick had close associations with The Velvet Underground, J. Geils Band, and The Modern Lovers.

Patrick will be missed by his family and friends more than he could ever know. 

A  Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 31st  at 10 AM in the Church of St Clare 1244 Liberty St Braintree Highlands. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the McMaster Funeral Home 86 Franklin St (RT 37) Braintree, Sunday from 3-6pm. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family sincerely requests that donations be made in Patricks name to the Cambridge Health Alliance Foundation; 1493 Cambridge St. Cambridge MA, 02139.
