Mary Beatrice Furlong 99 of Braintree passed peacefully on August 8, 2018 at her home of 87 years. She was born in 1918 in South Braintree, where she lived her entire life. She loved her job as a telephone operator, working splits so she could walk home to play tennis. Mary was there at Frank Sinatra's first show and worked with JFK on his Senate campaign. She was a kind and stylish woman who loved coffee, flowers, and animals. Though Mary had no children, she took care of many people, especially elderly women. For the last seven years her great-nephew Keith took care of her in her home where they shared many good meals, laughs, and adventures. She is survived by her nieces, nephews, and the many friends whose lives she touched and who will miss her greatly. A funeral mass will be held on Friday August 10th at 12 PM in Saint Francis of Assisi Church S. Braintree Square. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the McMaster Funeral Home 86 Franklin St. (RT 37) Braintree prior to the mass from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Internment Blue Hill Cemetery.
