Philapena G. "Phyllis" Canale

Philapena G. “Phyllis” Canale, age 94, of Braintree passed away peacefully on December 24, 2023, after a brief illness.

Born and raised in Braintree, she was loved by many. Phyllis was the daughter of the late Salvatore Leo, and Nunzie “Nancy” Tricomi. Wife of the late Michael C. Canale. Mother of Michael and Dorothy “Dotti” Canale of Braintree, Paul Canale of South Carolina, and the late Debra Canale. Sister of Nancy Leo and the late Pete Leo of North Carolina, sister-in-law to Mae Leo. Nana to Christine of Texas, Stephen and his wife Megan of New Hampshire, and Cristina and her father Jose Merlo of Brockton. Great grandmother to Karmen B. of Texas and Andrew of New Hampshire.

Phyllis retired in 1992 from the town of Braintree and was a wonderful lunch lady. In her spare time, she loved bowling and going to the casino for a fun time. She also loved knitting afghans for anybody and everybody.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, December 28 from 4-7pm at McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin St. (Rt. 37), Braintree. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 29 at 10am at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington St., Braintree. Interment Saint Mary Cemetery, Randolph.
