Richard "Mike" Donahue

Richard  “Mike” Donahue 89 of Wareham formerly of Braintree passed away at his home November 7, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Eileen (Janssen) Donahue to whom he was married to for 61years. Loving father of Richard and his wife Ann of Sudbury, Susan Kupps and her husband David of SC, John and his wife Maryanne of Braintree, Michael of Wareham and Robert and his wife Shannon of Franklin. Dear grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mike was born and raised in Braintree and lived there until moving to Wareham in 1983. His dream was to play professional baseball, and he was signed by the legendary Connie Mack to play in the Philadelphia athletics farm system until an arm injury cut short his career. He was a US Army Veteran and had worked for the Armstrong Cork Co. in Braintree for 39 years retiring in 1989. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday November 11 at 12 PM in St. Francis of Assisi Church South Braintree Square. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the McMaster Funeral Home 86 Franklin St. (RT37) Braintree prior to the mass from 9:30- 11:30 AM. Interment Braintree Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family sincerely requests that contributions in his name may be made to the Community Nurse and Hospice Care 62 Center St. Fairhaven MA 02719.
