Phyllis A DiPalma

 Phyllis A. (Kowalski) DiPalma 82 of Northbridge, formerly of Braintree, passed away October 16, 2016 after a brief illness at home surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of William Mello. Loving mother of Edward Schastny and his wife Karen of Everett, Patricia Dowd and her husband Kevin Dowd of Mendon and the late Donna Schastny of Chelsea. She was “Nana” to Kailey and Shannon Dowd, Alyssa Schastny, Ryan and Julie Shaw, William, Gina, and Anthony Mello, Maria, Antonia, and Matthew Mello. Step Mother and friend to Jennifer and Richard Shaw, William and Joanne Mello and Matthew and Lauren Mello. Sister to Susan Kowalski and the late Wayne Kowalski of Florida. Phyllis was an active member on the Braintree Retirement Committee. She was committed to retirees and seniors, volunteering for Meals on Wheels and the Shine Program. Her hobbies included cooking, quilting and knitting. She was an avid traveler, and would recount her adventures to her family and friends. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday October 19 at 11:30 AM in the Church of St. Clare, 1244 Liberty St., Braintree Highlands. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the McMaster Funeral Home 86 Franklin St. (RT37) Braintree prior to the Mass 8:30 - 11 AM. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers the family sincerely requests that contributions in her name be made to a charity of ones choice.
