Madeline (Raneo) Wilson, who recently celebrated her 100th Birthday, entered eternal rest September 19, 2016, at home surrounded by her loving family.   She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel F. Wilson Sr. and daughter of the late Antonio and Balbina Raneo.  Madeline was the loving mother of Daniel Jr., Cynthia Christian and husband John, Deanna Fredie  and husband Julian and Jennifer Averett, all of Braintree;  Antone of Roslindale, Thomas and wife Alicia, Barbara Lockhart and husband Edward,  both of Newton; M. Patricia Wilson of Quincy and Susan Treacy and husband Michael of Brighton.  She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.   In addition to her family, Madeline is also survived by three special “daughters”, Mary Jo Kelly, Carol Lake and Ann Binney. 

 

Madeline greatly cherished her large family and friends through many years of family celebrations, gatherings and cookouts.  She enjoyed her involvement with the Braintree Catholic Women’s Club, The Braintree Sons of Italy and the Braintree Women’s Club.   Madeline also enjoyed her travels with her husband, Daniel, to Bermuda, Mexico, the Panama Canal, Brazil, London, Portugal, Hong Kong and Thailand.  Her family trips to St. Thomas and Puerto Rico will also be remembered by her family for a long time.

 

Born and raised in Harwich, Madeline had been a resident of Braintree for the past 65 years.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 24, at 10:30AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Washington Street, South Braintree.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin Street (Rte. 37), Braintree, Friday, September 23, from 5 – 8PM.  Interment will be at the Blue Hill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family sincerely requests that donations in her memory may be made to the Hospice of the South Shore, 30 Reservoir Park Drive, Rockland, MA, 02370, or to St. Jude’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-1095.
