Irene P (Martinelle) Reynolds

Irene (Martinelle) Reynolds of Braintree, formally of Quincy, passed away on October 24 after a brief illness surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Philip and Louise Martinelle of Everett, the place of her birth. She is predeceased by her late husband, Charles H Reynolds and grandson Michael S Herman Jr.

Irene was a graduate of the Whidden Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Everett, where she earned her RN. She then went on to devote most of her professional career caring for the elderly at the Marion Manor Nursing home in South Boston, until her retirement as the Director of Nursing Services. She enjoyed boating with her family and traveling to New Hampshire with her late husband. She had a great affection for God’s creatures, especially the birds she fed, as she tended her backyard garden where she spent may happy hours.

Irene is survived by her children for whom she will be deeply missed, Patricia and her husband Michael Herman, Debora Reynolds Fay and her husband Stephen Fay, both of Braintree, and Charles H Reynolds II and his wife Kathleen of Lynn. Her grandchildren include, Julie Little, Allison and Zachary Reynolds, Jessica and Anastasia Fay, and great grandson James Little. She leaves sisters Lucille Deslodges, Dorothy Martinelle, and a brother, Philip Martinelle, along with many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday October 28TH at 11 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church S. Braintree Square. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the McMaster Funeral Home 86 Franklin St. (Rt37) Braintree prior to the mass from 9-10:30 AM. Interment Braintree Cemetery.
